Here’s a roundup of today’s top Chelsea news and gossip from the icfootballnews guys that we think you might have missed –

Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is open to taking over at CHELSEA now that Graham Potter has been officially fired.

After establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s best young managers while at Brighton, American owner Ted Boehly made the bold decision to give him the job at Chelsea.

Boehly had just fired Thomas Tuchel following a poor start to the new season – and knew that many had tipped Potter to manage one of the Premier League’s big clubs – and after the start Brighton had to the new season – believed he was the man to take the club forward.

But, after a promising start at Stamford Bridge, Potter’s Chelsea side began to struggle before the Work Cup, failing to score goals and play the football that fans had grown accustomed to seeing in recent seasons.

Mauricio Pochettino is said to be interested in taking over as manager of the Blues now that the position has become available, and he is “pushing for the job” behind the scenes.

Pochettino has already managed two Premier League clubs, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton, and it was thought that his ties to Tottenham would prevent him from joining another London club.

According to the Sun, Pochettino would be willing to take over at Chelsea because the Argentine still owns a home in London and spends a lot of time there.

Getting rid of Potter appears to be the right decision for CHELSEA because the club is not performing at the levels that are required – and the fact that he has lost the dressing room is massive.

Pochettino is a highly rated manager who has the ability to deal with the big egos at Chelsea – and he could be a very good option for the Blues.

Paez will join Chelsea.

CHELSEA have signed midfield wonderkid Kendry Paez, beating out Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City just hours before sacking Graham Potter.

Since Ted Boehly’s arrival at the club last summer, the club has spent a lot of money on some of the best young players in the game right now.

It is clear that the American has a long-term plan at Stamford Bridge and has ensured that Chelsea has beaten off rivals for those talents – and it appears that they have done so once again with the potential signing of Paez.

The midfielder is expected to cost the Blues around £20 million, with any potential fee set to rise depending on his performances up until his 18th birthday.

The teenager is one of the most sought-after young players in the world, but he won’t be able to join Chelsea until he turns 18 in 2025.

The announcement came just hours before the club made the shocking decision to fire Graham Potter after only seven months in charge.

Many football fans around the world are excited about Paez’s abilities – he truly appears to be something special and a player with a bright future in the game.

Chelsea fans will not see the lad make the move OFFICIALLY for a number of seasons, which is unfortunate, but hopefully he will not be forgotten and lost in that CHELSEA system when he does arrive.

If the reports are true, the lad is making a huge decision that could make or break his Premier League career.’

SALTER, THE NEW BOSS, SENDS THE FIRST MESSAGE –

Following Graham Potter’s dismissal, new CHELSEA manager Bruno has been introducing himself to the assembled media.

The new interim Blues manager began his press conference like this:

“Before we begin, I spoke with him five minutes ago; he sends his best to all of you.” Obviously, it’s been a difficult 24 hours for all of us, staff and families alike, and now we must deal with the situation.

“If I’m here right now, it’s because Graham and the club thought it was the best course of action.” I’m simply here to assist the club in any way I can.

“Right now, I’m here trying to keep the process going.” We do our best to go along with it. Graham did an excellent job, in my opinion. Football is a very complicated business, and we must persevere.

“I couldn’t see the players because I couldn’t see them yet.” We’ve scheduled an afternoon session. At the end of the day, we’re all responsible; we have to concentrate on tomorrow’s game, and that’s the energy we’re focusing on.

“I spoke with the owners, and they were very supportive.” I’m focused on training today, the match tomorrow, and the steps after that.”
